Community Music Making

We expect that some of you coming to this event will be either part of a regular drumming group, or, will be a musician in your own right eager to jam with other attendees, or even perform to an audience. The Music Worldwide Summer Camp will give you every opportunity, and space to do this:

Mixed Instrument and Jam Sessions:

Selected Workshops offer instrumentalists an opportunity to learn melodies on mixed instruments, and some workshops will lead to a performance over one of the evenings, so bring along your djembes, voices, guitars, flutes, saxaphones, fiddles, didg's, congas and cajons and get creating!

There will also be opportunities for one-to-one or small group sessions with some of the teaching artists with us over the weekend. Some of you may want some further tuition to improve your playing. We would expect the artists to make a small charge for this extra non-programmed teaching, so a fee may apply. We will put more details about this on the web pages as we confirm which teachers will be offering this extra option.

Evening Venues:

We will have three music venues to enjoy each night. The Lunar Stretch Tent is an amazing Bedouin style tent which will become our main communal seated area. We will have a small stage here for our fabulous DJ sessions in the evenings (see DJs in the Workshop Line-up).

It also becomes a venue for lunchtime acoustic sets. We will get some acts booked up in advance, but we very much hope this will be added to by the camp community. We will be posting more about how to sign up for a performance slot as we near the event.

Our Main Stage Tent will be located next the the Lunar Stretch Tent and will have a much larger stage for artist performances and some of you with bigger ensembles or line-ups. We will announce information about each nights artist line-up on the Workshop Timetable and Site Map Page Click HERE.

What would a Summer Camp on Hulver Farm be without an Evening Fire to gaze into, chat and enjoy a drink with friends, make music, or get really free and tranced out with the drums. This is a lovely communal space that will be lit each night.
